Coinbase Earnings Date: Q3 2026 Report Time, Expectations and COIN Stock Reaction

In February, Coinbase reported a $667 million quarterly loss, missed revenue estimates, and its stock rose 16.5% the next day. In July it missed again and the stock fell 10.6%. The next test comes on Thursday, October 29, 2026: Coinbase publishes Q3 2026 earnings after the US market close and takes questions live on X at 2:00 p.m. PT (5:00 p.m. ET).

Coinbase set the date in an investor-relations announcement on October 14. What the stock does after the release depends less on the headline EPS than on three numbers underneath it: transaction revenue, subscription and services revenue, and what management says about October.

Next Coinbase earnings date

The Coinbase announcement gives the following schedule.

Item Detail
Quarter Q3 2026 (July to September)
Date Thursday, October 29, 2026
Results published After the US market close, on investor.coinbase.com
Live Q&A 2:00 p.m. PT / 5:00 p.m. ET, on X, also streamed on YouTube
Replay and transcript Posted to the investor-relations site afterwards
Ticker COIN, Nasdaq

The format differs from most large caps. Coinbase does not run a classic dial-in conference call with an operator. It publishes an earnings presentation (a slide deck, not a shareholder letter, since Q1 2026) and holds the Q&A as a live session on X. Coinbase also lists its X account and CEO Brian Armstrong’s X feed among its official disclosure channels, so a remark made there during the session counts as company communication.

What time does Coinbase release earnings?

The release comes after the 4:00 p.m. ET close; Coinbase does not name an exact minute. New York is still on daylight saving time on October 29 (UTC−4; US clocks change on November 1), so the times convert as follows.

Location Nasdaq close (results after) Live Q&A
New York (ET) 4:00 p.m., Oct 29 5:00 p.m., Oct 29
UTC 20:00, Oct 29 21:00, Oct 29
South Africa (SAST) 22:00, Oct 29 23:00, Oct 29
Pakistan (PKT) 01:00, Oct 30 02:00, Oct 30
India (IST) 01:30, Oct 30 02:30, Oct 30

For traders in Asia, the numbers arrive in the middle of the night. The first reaction plays out in after-hours trading, where volume is thin, and the regular session on Friday, October 30 sets the first full price.

Coinbase earnings calendar: past and upcoming dates

Coinbase reports four to seven weeks after a quarter ends. Each of the last five reports has fallen on a Thursday, after the close.

Quarter Report date
Q3 2025 Thursday, October 30, 2025
Q4 2025 Thursday, February 12, 2026
Q1 2026 Thursday, May 7, 2026
Q2 2026 Thursday, July 30, 2026
Q3 2026 Thursday, October 29, 2026 (confirmed)
Q4 2026 Expected mid-February 2027 (not yet announced)

The dates come from the company’s earnings filings with the SEC. This quarter’s date came 15 days ahead of the report, so a Q4 date on a calendar site before late January is an estimate.

October 29 is a crowded evening. Amazon, Intel and Strategy report after the same close, and the Federal Reserve announces its rate decision the day before, at 2:00 p.m. ET on October 28. Strategy’s numbers matter for Coinbase traders too: both stocks trade on bitcoin, and the Strategy (MSTR) earnings page covers that report.

What’s in a Coinbase earnings report

Coinbase splits revenue into two buckets, and they behave differently.

  • Transaction revenue: fees on crypto trading by consumers and institutions, plus derivatives and prediction markets. It was $599 million in Q2 2026, down 22% from a year earlier. This line follows trading volume and volatility.
  • Subscription and services revenue: stablecoin revenue (tied to income on USDC reserves), staking rewards, Coinbase One subscriptions, custody and interest income. It was $555 million in Q2 2026, or 48% of net revenue. This line follows interest rates and USDC balances more than trading.
  • Adjusted EBITDA: the company’s preferred profit measure, which strips out crypto mark-to-market swings and stock-based pay. It came in at $207.8 million in Q2 2026. See the glossary entry on EBITDA for the basic definition.
  • GAAP net income and EPS: includes gains and losses on the crypto Coinbase holds for investment ($1.47 billion at June 30, 2026) and on its strategic stakes in other companies.
  • Operating metrics: trading volume, market share, assets on platform and average USDC held in Coinbase products.

For a general walk-through of these sections, see the guide on how to read an earnings report.

Why the headline EPS misleads

Coinbase marks its crypto holdings to market every quarter, so its earnings per share moves with the price of bitcoin and ether on the last day of the quarter. In Q4 2025 the company booked a $718 million loss on crypto held for investment. In Q2 2026 the same line was a $210 million loss. Those two items explain much of why Yahoo Finance’s consensus table shows four straight quarters in which actual EPS landed far from forecasts, three of them as misses by more than a dollar a share.

Q3 2026 points the other way. Total crypto market capitalisation rose 39.6% in the quarter, according to CoinGecko’s Q3 report, and bitcoin closed September at $83,554 against $58,559 at the end of June (Yahoo Finance daily closes). The mark-to-market line will look different from the last three quarters. That is accounting, though, not business, which is why the gap between GAAP and non-GAAP figures matters more here than for most stocks.

What to expect from Coinbase’s Q3 2026 earnings

Company outlook

Coinbase does not guide on EPS. In the Q2 2026 earnings presentation filed with the SEC on July 30, it gave these Q3 markers:

Metric Q3 2026 outlook (July 30) Q2 2026 actual
Transaction revenue About $130 million in July through July 26; no full-quarter figure $599 million
Subscription and services revenue $500 million to $580 million $555 million
Transaction expense Mid-teens as a % of net revenue 16.4%
Adjusted expenses $980 million to $1,080 million $1,035 million
Stock-based compensation About $245 million $238 million

The company attached a warning to the July figure: “caution extrapolating results”. About $130 million in 26 days works out to $5 million a day, against $6.6 million a day in Q2. Crypto prices then rose through August and September, with total market capitalisation peaking on September 21, so the July pace may understate the quarter. That is the swing factor.

Consensus

As of October 20, 2026, analysts expect revenue of about $1.2 billion, slightly below Q2’s $1.22 billion. Yahoo Finance shows an average of $1.20 billion from 22 analysts, with a range of $1.02 billion to $1.37 billion. EPS estimates scatter far more: an average of −$0.12 from 17 analysts on Yahoo, against −$0.28 on MarketBeat. The highest single estimate on Yahoo is +$1.79 and the lowest −$0.77. With a spread that wide, “beat” or “miss” on EPS says little; the revenue lines and adjusted EBITDA are cleaner comparisons.

Metric Q3 2025 actual Q2 2026 actual Q3 2026 consensus
Total revenue $1.87bn $1.22bn about $1.20bn
EPS $1.50 −$1.36 −$0.28 to −$0.12
Net income (loss) $433m −$359m no single consensus figure
Adjusted EBITDA $801m $208m no public consensus figure found

Actuals come from Coinbase’s Q2 2026 presentation. Consensus figures change daily, so check them again on the day.

Trading activity in the quarter

The market data sends mixed signals. CoinGecko counted $1.65 trillion of spot volume on the 10 largest centralised exchanges in Q3, down 14.2% from Q2, even as prices rose. Higher prices lift assets on platform and staking revenue; lower spot volume caps consumer trading fees. Which force wins shows up first in the transaction revenue line, and that is the number to read before anything else on the night.

What could move COIN stock after earnings

  • Transaction revenue against the July pace. At $5 million a day for the full quarter, transaction revenue would come to about $460 million. A figure well above that means the second half of the quarter carried it.
  • Subscription and services within the $500 million to $580 million range. This line depends on USDC balances and on interest rates, so the Fed decision the day before feeds straight into the outlook for it.
  • Expenses. Coinbase cut staff in Q2 and booked $52.4 million of restructuring charges. Adjusted expenses at the low end of the $980 million to $1,080 million range would show the cuts landing.
  • The October update. In July, Coinbase gave quarter-to-date transaction revenue for the first weeks of the new quarter. A similar figure for October would be the first hard read on Q4, and the market trades forward.
  • Bitcoin on the night. COIN trades as a leveraged read on crypto prices. A sharp move in the BTC/USD price during the release window can swamp the numbers.
  • Buybacks. At June 30, Coinbase had $2.0 billion left on its repurchase authorisation. Any change to it is a direct signal on capital use.

How Coinbase stock reacted to past earnings

The table compares the close on the report day with the next day’s close (Yahoo Finance daily data), next to bitcoin’s move over the same days.

Report Result vs expectations COIN, next-day close BTC, same period
Q3 2025, Oct 30, 2025 EPS $1.50 vs $1.13 estimate +4.6% ($328.51 to $343.78) +1.2%
Q4 2025, Feb 12, 2026 EPS −$2.49 vs $0.94; revenue $1.78bn vs about $1.81bn +16.5% ($141.09 to $164.32) +4.0%
Q1 2026, May 7, 2026 EPS −$1.49 vs $0.04 +4.2% ($192.96 to $201.16) +0.2%
Q2 2026, Jul 30, 2026 EPS −$1.36 vs −$0.23; revenue $1.22bn vs about $1.29bn −10.6% ($163.58 to $146.26) −3.0%

EPS estimates are from Yahoo Finance; revenue estimates from Seeking Alpha (Q4 2025) and MarketBeat (Q2 2026).

Two of the three EPS misses led to a rally. The February jump came after the stock had almost halved in a year (from $274.90 on February 12, 2025), so expectations were already low, and bitcoin rose 4% the same day. In July, the miss reached the lines that matter: revenue fell short and adjusted EBITDA of $207.8 million came in well below the roughly $302 million analysts had projected, according to StockStory. The stock was down 5% in after-hours trading and finished the next session 10.6% lower.

COIN goes into this report at $168.45 (October 19 close), up 27.5% in Q3 but down 25.5% for 2026 so far. Options price in a move of about ±8.9% after the report, according to Unusual Whales as of October 20. Expected moves of this kind are priced from the cost of an at-the-money straddle, so the figure shifts as the date approaches. Two of the last four reactions exceeded it.

How to prepare for Coinbase earnings

  1. Read the October 28 Fed decision first. A rate surprise moves crypto and the outlook for stablecoin revenue a day before Coinbase reports.
  2. Watch bitcoin into the close on October 29. COIN often follows BTC in the hours before the release, and Strategy reports the same evening.
  3. Open the deck at the transaction revenue slide. Compare it with the July pace, then check subscription and services against the $500 million to $580 million range.
  4. Skip the headline EPS. Mark-to-market gains on crypto can turn the GAAP number positive without telling you anything about trading.
  5. Find the October quarter-to-date figure and the Q4 outlook. These drive the Friday session.
  6. Size for an overnight gap. Two of the last four reports moved COIN more than 10% by the next close, and a stop order can fill well past its level when the price gaps.
