Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said he supports a freeze in the fighting and trilateral talks with the US and Russia. He spoke ahead of US envoy Steve Witkoff's meeting in Russia on Wednesday.
Zelenskiy said he hoped for a positive outcome from Witkoff's meeting in Russia on Wednesday. He also said he supports talks between the leaders of Kyiv, Washington and Moscow.
In an interview with Fox News, Zelenskiy said his talks with Witkoff in Oslo a day earlier were productive and that Ukraine was ready for diplomacy. He thanked the US for restoring intelligence sharing. He added that he hoped the limitations on Starlink and Starshield satellite services would be lifted soon.
Zelenskiy called a freeze in the fighting important, as a step toward diplomacy and an agreement that includes security guarantees. He praised Trump's call for ceasefires.
On format, Zelenskiy told Fox's "Fox & Friends" program: "It's important to negotiate trilaterally" with him, US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. He added that it would be better if European countries could also take part.
